Why renewal matters
Without renewal, Salinas faces significant budget cuts
The existing Measure G tax begins phasing out in 2029. Without renewal, the campaign reports that the City projects a significant reduction in available funding for local services.
According to the campaign’s materials, that reduction is projected to reach approximately $48 million, or 21 percent of the City budget, in 2030–31.
